Most people know the project, not the service

You probably know what you want to do: build on a lot, go up a story, open up a kitchen, put a cottage in the garden. The table below maps that to the right page and a typical budget.

Most of those pages carry an estimator that turns the range into a number for your size and scope. That number is usually the most useful thing to have before a first conversation.

Every project is designed by David Meade directly, from first sketch through construction administration.

    Questions

    Working with Piper Cole, answered

Not answered here? Call David, most calls are answered the same day.

    What does an architect cost?

Piper Cole Architects quotes a fixed fee for design and permit, set by the project budget and location, from about ,000 to 0,000 depending on scope. The first feasibility check is free and usually takes about a day; an in-depth analysis is ,500.

    Do I need an architect?

Not by law for a single family home or a building of four units or fewer: RCW 18.08.410 exempts them from the stamp requirement. People hire one because the lot, the code or the design is complicated. On a simple job you may not need one, and you will be told so.

Who will I actually work with?

David Meade, AIA, NCARB, directly, from the first conversation through construction administration.

    Where do you work?

Across Seattle and the Eastside, including Kirkland, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Medina, Sammamish and Redmond. The office is in Kirkland.

    Is the first consultation free?

Yes. The first thirty minutes are free and carry no obligation. Call 425 753 6452.
